This series documents that the established requirements of the Board of Medical Licensure have been met and that practicing physicians have been properly licensed. Pursuant to KRS 11.555, the Board of Medical Licensure was created to regulate and control practice of medicine and osteopathy in the Commonwealth in order to prevent empiricism and to protect the health and safety of the public. To this end, the Board has responsibility to ensure that medical doctors are properly licensed and have met the requirements of the Board prior to the granting of a license.
