Kentucky. Board of Architects

The Kentucky Board of Architects was established in 1930 to protect the public health, safety and welfare by the regulation of architects. It was originally entitled the Kentucky Board of Examiners and Registration of Architects. Since 2002, the Board has additionally assumed the responsibility for the certification of interior designers in the Commonwealth. The Board is governed by the Kentucky Revised Statutes under Title XXVI, Occupations and Professions, Chapter 323.

St. Mary's Cathedral, located at Madison Avenue and 12th Street, Covington, Kentucky, claims wide distinction, it is a million dollar structure, patterned after St. Dennis Abbey and the famous Notre Dame in Paris and is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in this country. It has a seating capacity of 1400 persons. The windows in the church are a study in themselves and every window has a religious significance. The gorgeous north window at the extreme left of the picture is said to be the second largest stained glass window in the world. It is 24 feet by 67 feet. St. Mary's Cathedral is an achievement of which any community might well feel proud, a joy to all who love beauty, and an inspiration to the young."

Boards, commissions, councils, task forces, etc, which were established by statute or executive order, or those entities which establish or administer policy are examples for which minutes should be created. Series contains: Date of meeting; time of meeting; location of meeting; name of board members or authorized proxies present; identification of those not present; decisions rendered; issues discussed; record of votes. May also include agendas and materials distributed for discussion and approval.
