"Kenton County Infirmary," Photo 0087 (back), undated- scannedBack of photograph 0087. A cut off caption is glued on the back and reads: "the Kenton county infirmary is engaged in the philanthropic work of providing a home, food and clothing for some 170 Kenton County citizens who, in their middle or old age, have been overtaken by adversity and destitution. The institution is said to be the largest and best equipped of its kind in the State of Kentucky. The Home nestles on a ten-acre tract near the banks of the Licking River in that part of Covington known as Rosedale. Flanked on the east by Twin Oaks County Club and on the West, within a few minutes walk, is the nationally known Latonia race track. To the south, the circle of hills presents a soothing and attractive landscape, while to the north is the City of Covington. The building is a three-story brick and concrete structure and has 89 rooms, including recreation rooms and chapel. In summer they have a spacious grounds on which to roam and exercise, which are kept in the best condition possible with plans for beautification and landscape improvement constantly under consideration."
