description:
Audio Recording, October 30, 1947- Digitized- Disc 01, Track 01 June 10, 2008 "Produced in 1947, six years prior to Ron Rhody's premier of the "Kentucky Afield" Radio Show, research suggests that this program may have never aired. While the program narrator (name not known) states this is the first in a series, it may have also been the only. Given that the guests were clearly reading from prepared scripts, given that the only electrical transcription (standard of the day) recording of the program to survive was the first, that no other accounts of this program was not titled the likelihood, we conclude, is that this was done for demonstration purposes. While we may be wrong in this presumption, the content is honest and factual and the philosophy of ethics and wise use of wildlife is still followed as of this writing, June 10, 2008" [from the Disk documents]
