This series documents the annual accounting of the fiscal status of a University, along with internal and external audits of university business and finance. Per KRS 164A.565(8), the governing board of each university makes an annual report of financial activity to the Council on Postsecondary Education. Audits may be completed by independent auditors, college or university internal audit departments, or the Auditor of Public Accounts. They may be fiscal, programmatic or compliance audits. Fiscal audits of postsecondary educational institutions must be completed per KRS 164A.570, which requires that findings and recommendations be forwarded to the Governor, the Secretary of the Finance and Administration Cabinet, the Auditor of Public Accounts, the Director of the Legislative Research Commission, the president of the Council on Postsecondary Education, and members of the college or institution's governing board. This series consists of the University’s annual financial reports, audit reports, and other records that formally document the University’s fiscal and performance reporting.
