"St. Elizabeth Hospital," Photo 0093 (back), undated- scanned Back of photograph 0093. A caption is glued on the back that reads "ST. Elizabeth Hospital St. Elizabeth Hospital, located at 21st and Eastern Avenue, Covington, Ky., was opened for public inspection Aug. 2, 1914. By the end of the month, all patients had been removed from the old hospital on Eleventh Street to the new one. It was indeed a great change from the old to the quiet rooms of a new modern institution. Each year new methods were adopted to keep pace with the progress made in the science of medicine and surgery. New equipment was installed from time to time, as it became necessary, in accordance with demands of modern institution. This year, 1936, the hospital held a Diamond Jubilee, in honor of the founding of the hospital in 1861. Let us hope that the accomplishments of the past seventy-five years will be equalled, if not surpassed in the years to come, every keeping pace in the progressiveness with science and medicine. Let us trust that the spirit of the pioneers in this great movement will ever remain a living flame, reflecting its glory in the work accomplished in this noble institution." A photographer's stamp in the center reads "Rolsen Photo Service Phone HE 0572-12 Catalpa AVE. Covington, KY."
